I have all three Sieros too. My fav scent is Rebelle. I just ordered another jar.  Smile
I like them all but Rebelle is also my favourite  Happy2  Further to the above comments, I used Entropy Man and Ravish on consecutive days this week and to my albeit limited sensibilities, I felt that they both performed excellently.  There are a few artisans that are pushing the envelope and driving each other to greater heights.  I think both Wholly Kaw and Barrister & Mann can be counted in that group.  Its a rare morning when I have a dud shave and it almost never happens with either of those artisans.

Firstly, it's a fine soap. Secondly, this $30 soap shaved no better than any other artisan soap priced for far less. Sorry, but I have to be brutally honest. Perhaps the "hook" is the PSF, but I don't see/feel it. I will be even more blunt in that the B&M Excelsior I used yesterday with the same razor & same blade (1st & 2nd shaves respectively) gave me a far better shave. Don't look at this as losing a customer as I have only used WK samples before and never bought a tub. I most likely won't be making any more purchases and I wish you the best of luck.

When you are comparing Wholly Kaw Siero to Barrister and Mann Excelsior, you are comparing two elite-class soaps. Both soaps will give a superb shave. Any differences between the soaps will be subtle,  thus, highly subjective. Ruds Shaves gives Siero a shave score of 100 and Excelsior a score of 98; that is a pretty small difference. Siero is one of only four soaps that Ruds has rated at 100 (Barrister and Mann Soft Heart, Declaration Grooming Milksteak, Grooming Department Nai, and WK Siero). Thus, it is quite possible that you will prefer Excelsior over Siero, depending upon which attributes you consider most important. I rate them as essentially equal in performance, but I prefer the scent of WK Fougere Mania to the Excelsior scents in my den (Beudelaire and Vespers).

The less expensive Wholly Kaw Buffala soap base is also a great performer, just not quite as good as Siero. Even the older Donkey Milk base is an excellent soap. The later is still available at some stockists.

Ruds, whom I enjoy watching, has never stated which (if any) objective "template" he utilizes and IMO it is patently obvious he is biased toward PSF which is important for some, but for others is utterly meaningless. It almost goes without saying that I fall into the latter group.

Same prep, same blade, same razor, same brush and the B&M Excelsior gave me a slicker/smoother shave. YMMV.

The Siero base is really excellent and the scent is great. I was a little worried with leather being in the scent profile but I worried for nothing. It’s beautiful. Well done Sri

Thank you Marko.  Appreciate the love for Entropy Man!!

Any possibility of seeing king of oud in the new base please? Thanks

It will happen once we get the supply chain issues ironed out for Siero.  We cannot do the migration for the entire line but will be doing scent by scent. I do not have a timeline for this yet.

Yes, one of the comments Ruds makes when reviewing soaps is whether you need to use a post-shave product with the soap. I do not know how much emphasis he give to post-shave feel vs other attributes since he does not advertise the criteria he uses. When evaluating soaps, I evaluate ease of loading, ease of lathering, primary slickness, residual slickness, cushion/protection, and post shave on a 10 point scale for each attribute and then add them up to get a maximum score of 60. Ruds has blue eyes and a ruddy complexion, as do I, so I tend to like the soaps he likes,

I tend not to use pre-shave or post-shave products other than witch hazel. If you use a pre-shave product, then that provides additional slickness and the slickness of the soap is not as important. If you have less-sensitive skin, cushion/protection is not as important. If you use a post-shave splash, balm or serum, that product will determine the post-shave feel rather than the soap. However, if you are using pre-shave or post-shave products, then the cost of those products has to be factored into the cost of the shave. I find that using high quality soaps, even those that cost $30 can reduce my overall shave cost by eliminating the need for additional products that I would otherwise need.

That must be "Las Vegas math" you're using as a host of superb post shave moisturizers can be had for less than $10 each and will easily last nigh onto a year unless you are slathering it on.

Hey man, as someone who lives in Las Vegas, I object to such a term. We use the same math as everyone else does. I’m just not very good at it, because each new year I decide to spend less on shaving stuff, yet at the end of the year, the math doesn’t match with that decision…
