not cool. come up with your own razor, even if you steal the geometry of the shaving bits.

Given that there are lots of popular, copied products in the wetshaving world, I doubt most people care. If the copied product works reasonably well, and represents a good value for the money, it is likely to do well. That especially holds true in a hobby where having lots of gear is seemingly paramount these days. Those are just my observations.

The same thing goes for the Yeti coolers. Good grief, those things are ridiculously expensive!

I live where Yeti is headquartered. I own several of their products. I really dont care that they cost a little bit more than some other stuff. They are not *that* expensive, anyway.

Yeah it's not a moral emergency that there are copies of relatively unimportant products out there but I choose to support the companies and people that come up with the original ideas, such that they may come up with more original ideas. It is of little concern to me that something may not be accessible to everyone; I myself cannot afford a 930 turbo so I remain happy with my little 3 series at something like 1/6th the cost. If someone wants to support IP theft sure, I can't stop them. But I dont have to write it off as an inevitably and I can certainly share my opinion that I dont like it when I see someone doing it.

I got a Game Changer .84 when they restocked 12 days ago, and I like it a lot - $54.99 of double edge smoothness and efficiency. I like to take my time making comparisons, and I have only had the GC for a week, but It seems as of now to be broadly in the same ball park my more expensive Timeless and Karve razors. As I write this, it is still in stock, and at $54.99, I would say it is very obtainable.

As far as obtainables that I know firsthand, the Blackbird and Timeless are both great. I like the Timeless in .95, whether OC or SB. Oddly enough the Blackbird is .58 IIRC, and shaves like a .95. The Rockwell 6S is quite good and you can't beat the price. Figure out which plate works for you and it is as good as any. The industrial finish is cool too. I like a bit of variety though, so all of the above, plus obtaining some unobtainales is even better. Smile

As far as Chinese copies, I don't care if it is a clone. I wouldn't have one.

There's a lot here in this quote. I'm a lawyer spending most of my time addressing music licensing issues. The amount of theft in the music world is staggering, both through copyright infringement and music business distribution infrastructure. Artists of any stripe, music or razor designers, deserve our support.

That is not always true. Look at traditional wetshaving vs. cartridge shaving, or the the Ming Shi 2000s vs. the Merkur Futur. Gillette invented double-edge safety razors and blades. Every other brand is a copy or close derivative.

dmiller622 might be able to provide a link, as he seems to know about the clones. Like I said, I was being facetious. I was really surprised to read that someone is actually cloning the Wolfman. My bad, as it should have been no surprise.

I found an article today on Sharpologist that actually shows one of the Wolfman clones. So they have been around for at least 9 months. It might just be a sorta lookalike rather than a clone, though. The article also has some interesting insights on razor clones and copies, and why some succeed and others fail.

Downloading is still an issue? I haven't heard of anyone doing that in forever. Why would they when a world of music is available for free on Spotify, Pandora, and other streaming services? It would be like hot wiring a Yugo when a Camaro can be had for free.

Downloading is not a large part of the music business revenue stream anymore. Streaming, however, which is the lion's share of the "distribution infrastructure," is part of the pain being experienced by artists. As one reference, I suggest listening to the Freakonomics episodes regarding Spotify (not on Spotify). I have no doubt that Ek means well, but unintended consequences emerge. Or listen to Roseanne Cash's testimony in Congress. Or anything on the topic from T-Bone Burnett.

Now, back to topic!

Actually from what I understand from the individual's they used some technology to 3D imprint the razors head and bases to match exactly the current one so he said it is 1 for 1 match using some top CNC machining in China. When I receive the one I am going to test I will provide photos
and I do know the handles are a different design.

I requested the person to join this forum and provide the information so I am certain he will soon. DE razors have been around for years and every DE razor out there is cloned in some way or another.

To be honest the wolfman razors are not all that anyway so I have no idea why there is such an uproar on it. I mean it just a polished SS razor which he only makes a handful a month. I think the reason why everyone is pissed about the wolfman clones is they cannot resell them for $500 to $1000 now since the market will be flooded with clones.
