Neither of the Oregon Spirit are full bottle worthy to me. Both pretty musty, which I understand can come from the malt. And the rye spice notes were buried in the back of the taste. The Woodford double oaked I could drink on the regular. I’m still more a scotch guy, but I can see keeping some bourbon and certainly come rye around.

Agreed on the Woodford Double Oaked. I can’t speak to the others but if you like finished bourbons, I’d highly recommend Old Forester 1910, probably my favorite finished bourbon (also my favorite Old Forester out of the entire Whiskey Row series) for anywhere near the price.

I'll have to give that one a try Happy2

This is the bottle I just cracked into this weekend. Even the neck pour was fantastic and it only gets better with some air. Look forward to hearing your guys thoughts on it!

Just cracked my second bottle of Stagg Jr. Batch 14 and gotta say it’s probably my favorite bourbon right now. If you like barrel proof whiskey, it’s a must have.

I'll just leave this little factoid here Big Grin

Whiskey may be made everywhere from Brooklyn to Scotland but in 1964, Congress declared bourbon “America's Native Spirit.” That means to be called bourbon, it must be made in the U.S. But really, everyone knows that means Kentucky—95 percent of the world's bourbon is made in Kentucky.

I’ll be driving through Kentucky on my way to Atlanta in January. Any recommendations for bottles to pickup on my way? I’ve heard that Heaven Hill Green label is a good value. I’m no expert but my favorite bottles for sipping include Elijah Craig Small Batch, Larceny, and High West double rye.
