I'm getting a basic shavette from amazon. It has positive reviews, so I'm sure it'll be something great to start out with.

My first post in this thread. I pick a SR out of rotation and use for the week. This weeks straight is a Sterling Silver Scaled in a Art Deco style. I replaced the blade a while ago, the original was toast. A comfortable English Chopper.

Thank you sir. These scales were made by Foster & Bailey, Providence, Rhode Island. They were a manufacture of novelty shaving items. They bought the blades from Germany or England under private label manufacturing. Rescued this one with a rusted out blade but I had a nice replacement.

Well, two shaves in and I think I'm getting the hang of it. The hardest part is using my left hand to shave the left side of my face, but I can tell that after a while muscle memory will kick in and it will get much easier. If I can somewhat master this thing in the next week or two, I don't think I'll have any problems transitioning to real straights if I choose to do so. I will say too that it is a well made, solid piece of kit though. I'm impressed with the build quality. The only other shavette I have experience with was a cheap Chinese piece of crap that broke after the first use.
