Koké (Abbate y La Mantia) pear & rhubarb

After four shaves, this small, hard puck remains as heavy as the day I first unscrewed its lid. For a man bent on reducing his hoard, that's slightly disappointing news. But Koké lingers in a pleasant way, much like that rare house guest whose company you actually enjoy. With every shave, I’m still entertained by its fruity, woody fragrance and supple finish. I confess, most island-style scents don't grip me. They often feel greasy, like the cloying scent of a seaside souvenir shop or the heavy aroma of a dense sunscreen. Koké, however, surprises with its tart medley of pear, rhubarb, and grapevine, capturing a clean tropical essence without the weighty cliché of coconut and vanilla. I may have been a bit disappointed with the smell Koké at first, but now it’s becoming the emblem of the summer, and I really don't care if it never runs out.

What a lovely brush!

Great sandalwood to start a great day!  Floated the buffalo river, kayaked the lake, and played cards until just now.  This was my view out the bedroom window this morning

And Dan it’s a family lodge in the Idaho hills.  Centennial mountains are out the kitchen window, Island Park lake and Harriman State Park are out the south facing windows. Yellowstone is 20 minutes to the east.  Yep, it’s fun to be here when we can.
