Cella Bio

Well, it's summer now so switching over to a summer soap.  The vegetable base Bio is close to the tallow based Cella in the red tub but not quite the same.  Aroma is mild and somewhat honeydew melon like.  A good match for Clubman Classic Vanilla A/S.  Latherabiltiy is good, almost the same.  Stlickness is close but not the same.  Good at beard softening as is the original. In all these areas it exceeds most other non-tallow bases soaps that I have tried.   I think it does not cushion as well as the original making for a slightly rougher shave. All in all, pretty good for a summer soap. Oh, one more thing-no menthol. None whatsoever so if you are looking for that this is not your summer soap.

The lather reminded me of MacDuff's but it takes more water and time to create TommyCarioca's okra snot.  But once it's well-hydrated, it is a pleasure to use.

I have similar thoughts as well...HAGS takes A LOT of water to make it right.

Wm. Neumann & Co. - Old Fashioned Soda cream

Purists may be repelled by the thought of a shaving cream from a pump bottle. But this scent is delicious and there's nothing wrong with the performance, at all. I did two passes in about 5 minutes with a cartridge over my lunch break. Super smooth, no irritation, and a timesaver.

Hey Matt,

Two passes in five minutes is commendably fast.  How did you build the lather?  The website says you can use a brush or your fingers.
