Murphy & McNeil St. James (Irish Oatmeal Stout Beer) Slainte Base
Tobacco Oud (Grooming Dept) oud & dried apples
Shave 6
Sascoman, I agree, yesterday’s Coattails Redux smells incredible. I really like the mix of saffron and dark, spicy rose. Of all my Grooming Dept soaps, it’s surely one of the best. But today’s Tobacco Oud may smell even better. This soap reminds me of a bushel of apples that has been left in the cellar all winter long. There’s a certain dank ripeness to the fragrance that’s both startling and appealing. I love it on a cool, cloudy morning.
This soap's base is the original Kairos. With only thirty-six ingredients, it’s far simpler than the Kairos SE base. The lather is slightly thinner, and it seems more finicky about the water. But the shaving is just as good. And the finish is just as plump.
