Quote:Fougère (Eufros) dark fougère

Eufros soaps, they lather like a dream – but only when I remember to water them well. It’s a gradual transformation. At first, the lather is dense and sluggish. It clings to my palm like a child reluctant to let go of its mother's hand. So I dip the brush tips into water, maybe eight times, and work it into the foam until the paste swells and loosens into a creamy, slippery, oozy slurry. Gravity takes over, and it’s all I can do to keep the lather in the brush. Now this is the stuff great shaves are made of. I paint it on thick, and the blade glides with ease. Even an open-comb razor skates effortlessly across my face. But this is no sudden magic. I take at least ten minutes to work up a proper handmade lather. And when it finally turns thick and drippy and shiny, I know my efforts will be rewarded.Bouki

A lather tutorial disguised as a fine piece of writing.

Fougère was the runner-up, but Boreal has been requisitioned as the next contrary-to-expectations, Eufros olfactory challenge.  The Taming of the Tobacco has, rightly or wrongly, instilled confidence.

Glad to see someone else slathering this!
If I didn't have a closet full of soaps, I could see myself using it all spring.
