Eucris Cream (Geo. F. Trumper) oakmoss cologne
Shave 6

Lipripper660, you had me rolling on the floor with your plumbing story! Reminded me of one of your earlier posts, when a brush swan dived down the hole never to be retrieved.

DanLaw, thanks for promoting the use of the Feather Soft Guard blades. Sometimes it’s only been a dozen hours since I last shaved, and a regular blade would be too much. But these Soft Guards can take just a wee bit of stubble and clean it up without doing any harm.

And MarkB, isn’t that Trumper cream something. I’m usually a hard-puck shaver, but come spring I get to hankering for a spot of cream. I start digging out the half-dried pots and try to beat a little life into them. For scent and performance, Trumper’s are right at the top, and today’s Eucris may just be king of the whole hill.

Mystic Waters is a conundrum to me.  I like the performance a lot but the soaps have a floral note that is just not masculine but if you have 8 billion other soaps amd can buy a tub and leave it alone for a year the floral climbs in the Buick and goes to the church to play bingo and leaves you alone.  This tub of Oakmoss and Vetiver has been aging for over a year and POW it’s here and great.  [Image: 3tafxQ4.jpeg]

Yesterday's shave.  There wasn't much of the Scheermonick left so I need to start testing out new travel soaps.  Definitely like the container size, scent and performance on this one.  My only hesitation to keeping as my travel soap is that it is a tallow soap.  I really prefer to have non-tallow in the dopp kit so that I don't have to pack witch hazel as well.

If I don't use witch hazel after using a tallow soap, there is an increased chance of developing acne/whiteheads.  It generally happens after several uses of a tallow soap without applying WH.  If it's only a few consecutive "tallow" shaves, there's generally no issue.  But when I shave consistently with non-tallow soaps and don't apply WH, i have never had an issue with acne.

Thanks for the response and tip. Been wondering if worth my using witch hazel with aftershave and this leads me to continue what I've been doing.
