Hendrix Classics - Bay Rum

Pretty much straight bay (no rum or spices), making it very similar to Laureato by Abbate Y La Mantia. Has a balsamic and anise quality to it, to me.

Ethos Grooming Vetivert

This stuff is beautiful. F base heartily improved. Very very slick now. I find it pairs best with Creed's Original Vetiver. Not remotely similar to Guerlain's Vetiver. And a distant cousin to TF's Grey Vetiver. Frank can weigh in but I am guessing he might agree with me on this. Very very close and so much better value with Frank's juice than with Creed.

Merry Christmas Tommy!

Just was looking at the posts and thought I’d chime in. So as you probably guessed Creeds Original Vetiver was my inspiration when making the Vetivert Aroma Blend. I’ve had a bottle of the Creed for years and I always loved it for its clean fresh aroma. I know some of the Vetiver aficionados over on Badenotes say it doesn’t speak strong Vetiver like Guerlain Vetiver but that’s exactly why I like it as I’m not a fan of that cologne. So Original Vetiver was my target like Creeds Aventus was when creating Succes but I had little tweaks in mind. With Succes I wanted more Pineapple and I’m happy with the results and same with Vetivert as I wanted a bit more citrus at the opening especially Bergamot. Both those Aroma blends took me a while to develop but I think we did ok. A your right they sure save the bank account when compared to their Creed brothers. A little side story. At this awesome local family owned Italian market that I shop at a lot I’ve got a lot of the employees that buy both scents from me now. It started when I walked in wearing Succes and the owner’s son said what the heck you have on? They also love Blue Note and Dragonsbeard EDP’s lol

A side note I have a couple of new Vetivers I’ve found in my studies into Essential Oils and Absolutes that are so good and much different than the ones that most are familiar with like Haitian. I’m tempted to release a couple new aftershaves or EDO’s to see what folks think. ( soaps to big of a project for testing)

An thank you for your thoughts and feedback on Vetivert. For me it’s a year round scent.

Have a good one my friend!

I would love a straight up, extremely earthy vetiver in your fantastic F Base, with maybe a hint of lemongrass or ginger in the background.
