Our skin has important fats called skin lipids that do many important jobs. One of their chief duties involves maintaining the hydration and robustness of our hide. But as the sands of time trickle away, these fats can take a bit of a biff, causing all sorts of botherations like drooping, creases, and dryness. To tackle this, scientists are studying vetiver oil, which may bestow a fresh dose of hydration and plumpness to skin that’s getting a little long in the tooth. They tested this by collecting volunteers of differing ages and skin types and then studying how the oil affected a variety of skin cells. The results showed that vetiver not only helped restore the skin’s protective barricade and added a surge in hydration levels, it also had a beneficent effect on the architecture of those fat cells lounging beneath the surface. In a nutshell, it looks like vetiver oil can be used to keep the old facade from crumbling.
And I have to add this: for me, Vétyver is the most moisturizing of all Martin de Candre's soaps. While Original et al. usually call for a dab of balm to stave off tightness, Vétyver leaves me feeling plump all on its own.

Wet Shaving Products Tobacco. One of my favorite soaps - easily the one I've bought the most times. Found a tin at Merz's in Chicago last week for $14.99 - it was the last one on the shelf. Given the price increases WSP has had since 2019, I figured this one must have been sitting on the shelves for literally years.
