Again, a couple of new brands/bases for me.  When I first opened the Xabons Xavieiro, the scent was, well, just ok.  My primary concern was that it is more of a croap which i've had issues with lathering in the past.  but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to lather this one.

This morning's shave was with Historic Brands.  This soap base is much firmer and this scent reminds me MacDuff's Back Country Bourbon.  The lather ended up being great...very easy to load and face-lather!  Had a very workable lather within a minute of face-lathering.  [Image: PDBem4g.jpg]

Shave 33

I embarked on several 3017 projects this year: Windsor (7 shaves), Arctique (6 shaves), Seaforth! Fleur de France (9 shaves), Spitfire (5 shaves), Le Tabac (6 shaves), Manna di Sicilia (10 shaves). As you can see, each time I stumbled just as I left the gate. An average of seven shaves per attempt. Pitiful. Sticking with one soap calls for mental and emotional reserves I seem to lack.

I didn’t think I would try again, but when Lipripper660 invoked the Wyoming wind (and promised a cape and a pair of starchy pants if I succeed), I knew there was no backing out of one more attempt to polish off a whole jar of soap. I'll probably slip in a little rose and fougère and bay rum from time to time, but for the most part, I'm going to try to ride this pony all the way back to the barn.
