When I first got going on this wet shaving thing years ago Caties Bubbles was one of the few choices we had for artisan soaps and I loved them! Piment de La Vie , La Terre Verte, Celtic Knot and others were so nice to sniff. And the soap itself was called the poor man’s Martin de Candre due to its limited ingredients list an a propensity to jump into a lather as if by magic. Over time each of my Caties walked off with one of my boys until I had none left. That is not the case any longer! I picked up this tub of Dirty Prose in a swap of some sort and as a Vetiver lover this one is a champ! Rose and dirty Vetiver? What’s not to love?
The tub is getting low and it happened I had reason to contact Chris and see if he would ever make it again. Nope! Never again! But…..I might wish to try his newly released X or Ten or whatever you wish to call it. It’s a ten year anniversary soap that is very close to the Dirty Prose but went to charm school. Nice. I should say so. ThuRoseday? Here’s a contender for you gents.

Vétyver, série limitée (Martin de Candre) green clean vetiver
Shave 31 ・ 179 g left
What did l learn today? The lids of those fantastic Meißner Tremonia glass jars fit perfectly on the Martin de Candre 200g acrylic containers. And they look a lot better than Martin de Candre’s aluminum lids. I may have to do a little rearranging.
I just read about a man who got 300 shaves out of his 200g jar of Martin de Candre. I’m only a tenth of the way there. Vétyver is a wonderful smelling soap, but do I have the stamina to finish all of it?
____________
Brush Plisson Bordeaux High Mountain White Synthetic (8) ・ Razor Blackbird Lite Ti (44) ・ Blade Personna (4) ・ Hoard 198 soaps ・ 455 consecutive shaves

If you start to 3017 it now, you'll be able to move onto another soap before the end of 2024.
