Manna di Sicilia (Saponificio Varesino) bitter woods
Shave 12 ・ 137 g left
A drop of Frank’s Revitalizing Serum turned this very good lather into something otherworldly. I wasn’t happy with the bitter smell of Manna di Sicilia, so I dipped into my aftershave box and pulled out a bottle of Sándalo Artístico serum, hoping that by adding a drop I might bring a little sweetness to dull woody notes in the soap. It worked fantastically. The bitterness disappeared in a soft cloud of sandalwood. But even more surprisingly, the lather itself came out thicker, creamier, and slicker. The Vector just sailed over my skin, even though it was loaded with a Soft Guard, a blade I often find too tuggy. It was a marvelous shave, and I hope to repeat it many, many times in the coming months.
