Felce Aromatica (Saponificio Varesino) Fougère Friday
Shave 20 ・ 118 g left

Olfactory fatigue, also known as nose blindness, occurs when your sense of smell gradually grows dull to familiar scents. It’s why you stop smelling your cologne after a while. And it’s why using the same soap day after day can become really boring. The soap’s performance may improve, but the pleasure lessens as your nose starts to lose interest in the fragrance. This is great news for soap cookers, since it allows them to offer a wide variety of fragrances to satisfy their customers every changing interests.

But for those of us who want to work our way through a single soap, olfactory fatigue is a nuisance. If you want to stay interested in your target soap’s smell (even if it’s not your favorite), it pays to put it away for a day or two and let your nose reset. And that’s exactly what I’ve done with Manna di Sicilia. It’s resting comfortably in the back of the cupboard until I can grok it again. And I’m glad it’s Fougère Friday. I’m ready to let my nose rest in Felce Aromatica’s easy green.

Nice pick, TommyCarioca!

I really liked that soap Tommy but didn't reach for it enough. I KNEW you'd give it the love it deserves ! It's where it belongs.

Thursday?  Nope. Friday rose.  I stumbled across this tub of forgotten rose cream and gave it a go.  It brought back memories of Covid where toothpaste tasted like gasoline and none of my soaps had any scent.  The first one to come back on line was this very lightly scented rose and I don’t know if it was scent depravation or some other wonky bit but I could smell rose really quite strongly.  Oh brother was it nice.  Well, today it is back to a light scent but it’s still very nice.
