Mrs Bouki comes home for lunch, opens the front door, and says, “Whoa, what’s that weird smell? Are you burning some funky Tibetan incense.” “No, sweetness,” I reply, “It’s just my shaving soap drying on my desk.” “Smells like the basement back room in a head shop.” “Oh … should I save Charge for when you’re away?” “Yup, that might be a good plan. I could smell it out in the driveway.”

Incredible lather, a gorgeous finish, and a scent that’s strong enough to get the neighbors wondering what’s going on in Boukiville.

That’s an awesome report! If I’d have been drinking milk it would have jettisoned though my breathing apparatus.

I love the look of the Rocca but it always shaved like a hacksaw for me. There were several iterations, so not sure which I had or which you have.
Gen 4 Rocca and usually it’s a good one for me. It behaved this morning in fact.
I got my Rocca from Connaught in October of 2019, and it was packaged as a model R 95.  I don't know how R 95 compares with Gen 4, but my Rocca has been a fine shaver for me.

Thu°Rose°day

A great rose shave today. A real Bluegrass Special .

The puck lathers much like Excelsior/Mystic Water. Great low profile slick lather. Scent off the puck was very strong. Scent upon lathering was light and very pleasant. This will be in the Rosa lineup for me going forward. I understand the maker is out of business.

C U all tomorrow

Good to hear!
Yeah, now that I'm thinking about it, mine was a Gen 2. She was very aggressive and I also had to fight with it to take the blade out of the posts/slats (due to sizing or spacing, not sure). Their customer service was great and they let me return it for a full refund.
Glad they've made improvements since then and it works for you (again)!

Work meetings in London this week and made my way to Mayfair on a warm sunny October day.

With all the great soaps on offer right now I am still drawn to these Trumper creams. They still hold their own against the exotic Cupuacu butter and duck fat offerings on hand and I really missed Spanish Leather. The world is right again.

Just Here for the Shaves

Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Knothead "Kentuckian"/Timberwolf
Soap: Abbate Y La Mantia "Blue Tobacco"
AS : Barbasol Pacific Rush
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,795

Another Soap from the House of Tommy and I believe a never used brand to me but can't remember. Here's what is stated about it on the web:

We soaked balsamic tobacco leaves in icy ocean waters. How? A fragrance of tobacco and eucalyptus bathed in the cold mint molecule (D-menthol).

In order to make this a tropical cosmetic, we added Avocado oil. To make this precious, we added the ultimate natural antibacterial agent: Saffron Pistil Extract.

What I note: The Saffron Pistil comes in dead last on the ingrediant list so I don't imagine there's a lot of it in there but it makes for good advertising Big Grin The scent I get is a nice Cold Aguatic. When you smell the tub it isn't offensive menthol but you smell that it's a cooling soap and the fresh aquatic scent is there but I'm not able to distinguish the individual notes they describe. All that said I enjoyed using it and upon smelling it, I immediately knew the perfect AS to go with it would be from my stash of Pacific Rush which is down to a half bottle I'm working on and 1 full backup. This vegan soap gave a great lather and shave. My face feels clean and refreshed. I will definitely enjoy using this soap but I wouldn't buy it at it's price point of more than $12 an ounce. There are better quality soaps priced lower. Like I said it's a great soap to enjoy but that's my honest opinion on it's value. I hope all have a great day !

Ethos 50% Nuage de Citron and 50% Unscented, then a drop of a special lemon aroma blend from Frank.

Nuage does have sandalwood as a base note so I like to tamp that down.  It gives the lemon a creaminess but I do have asthma so I am careful on my sandalwood scents.

The base is amazing.  This is one of the few I don’t need anything other than a splash with.  No oily post shave, no stickiness, it’s just right for me.   You will know where the extra dollars went!
