I fully admit that I'm not a big fan of the Italian soft soap bases.  For me, the lather is just too "light".  Don't get me wrong, it's slick enough and definitely gets the job done, it's just not my preference.  But the scent on this B-owl is fantastic...kind of a musky talc-like scent.  I enjoyed the scent off the tub so much, I had to go back and order the splash.  Thankfully, Pasteur's still had it on sale

BTW, like a kid playing with his food, i tried to create an owl on the top of the lather.  I'm definitely not an artist Smile

Monet (Abbate y La Mantia) water lily
Shave 3 ・ 142 g left

Monet is so different from all my other soaps, I’m finding it hard to put down. I’m generally not very keen on flowery scents. That’s my wife’s department. But this fantastic fragrance of water lily, mimosa, and heliotrope keeps drawing me back like a bee to the flower. And there’s something else, too. The finish is light and clean, but it’s also very smooth thanks to the Shea butter, which is the fourth ingredient (yeah, there’s a heap of it in this soap.). Throw in some saffron and rosehip extract, and you’ve got a happy ending to a beautiful smelling shave.

I’ve wondered about doing a week or so of soaps from companies that no longer make soaps.  Mickey Lee used to make some good stuff.  Coates is another who made excellent cream but stopped and a guy in Texas I think it was kept the name relevant as he sold through a stash he found in a warehouse.  Valobra was excellent by any measure. Reef Point made some good stuff. Cold River was hot as a two dollar pistol for awhile. Bufflehead? Did anyone actually ever see a tub of the stuff?  Seemed like everyone wanted it and nobody could get it.  Tim’s Soap out f Tx was a favorite of mine.  At any rate, I know I still have some of those defunct soaps around and they are still very nice.  Today was Tim’s Breakfast of Champions.  “Who wants to smell like Wheaties” you ask? Nah, this is tongue-in-cheek as the scent is boozy with a cigar sunk in it.  I’m neither a drinker or smoker but this scent remains one of my favorites. Performance is plenty good too.
