Monet (Abbate y La Mantia) water lily

I’m loving the scent, and I’m loving the finish. The loading is another matter. This is a croap, for lack of a better word. It’s so soft you’d think it would just jump onto my brush, but it doesn’t. In fact, it endures all sorts of vigorous swirlage, and even then the brush doesn't feel full. So today I decided to change my technique. I tried the Marco method, using a stiff boar brush that was just dripping with water. One hundred gentle swirls should have made a boatload of lather … but it didn’t. In fact, it was horrible thin and runny mess. I washed it down the drain and laid in again with a synthetic brush, followed by some earnest palm lathering. Still didn’t get a great glossy lather; instead I got a lot of airy foam. Surprisingly though, it led to a great shave. So after three shaves, here's what I can confirm: Monet smells sweet, and it’s effective, but it’s never going to win any beauty pageant.
