The rose scent really came through on this one while face-lathering...so much so that I almost switched my original choice of AS to WK's Chypre Rose Concerto

Dan Law hooked me up with some MdC Fougere. How’s that for a good friend? This is my first go with the FOOGER and long story short, it’s nice! The whole time I was shaving the scent was tickling my brain and telling me I’d already smelled this scent before. I chose to bowl lather today because that small tub of soap isn’t going to be a tub-loader ever. I’m really growing fond of MdC and it’s super clean finish. The small Baton brush was just the ticket.
And the scent I’d smelled before? I remembered!
What an awesome scent. Thanks a ton Dan!

Monet (Abbate y La Mantia) water lily
Shave 1 ・ 144 g left
Claude Monet, one of the first and most important French Impressionist artists, painted water lilies to capture fleeting moments. He wanted to immerse his viewers in a tranquil experience where nothing really happens. It just is. Monet’s water lilies are not supposed to be an accurate representation of nature, but rather a summary of what it feels like to stand next to the artist at the side of his pond over the course of a whole day.
That’s sort of what’s happening in this soap too. It’s full of flowery sweetness with a touch of earthiness. I smell jasmine, rose, citrus, and sometimes even a bit of light fruit. At times it’s delicate and enchanting, while at others it’s also slightly cloying. Does Monet smell like a water lily? Well, yes, it does, but it also smells of sunlight, water, green woods, and warm air. It’s a delightful fragrance that will take you back to your grandparent’s garden. And it’s just the thing to reach for if you’re thinking of starting Proust this summer. This is the Belle Epoch in full bloom.
