Many years ago, when I was getting back into shaving with a DE razor I purchased a soap in Lancaster PA on a business trip that took me to that fine State.  The vendor had some Cella too and I would have chosen that instead but it was stinky.  I later learned Cella in the tub has an issue with going rancid and this one surely was.  I knew absolutely nothing about Pre de Provence but it sure smelled nice and I picked it up.  Back in my hotel room was a puck of Van DerHagen soap that certainly lathered and shaved but this soap smelled like an upgrade.  I spent the evening wresting out the threads on the tin opening, sniffing, and closing.  Morning came and I dumped that puck into my hand a whipped up a remarkably awesome shave.  I believe this puck right here is the reason I love loading from a hard puck of soap.  It’s about half gone but the PdP dove is still visible on the top of the puck because I load it in my hand on the bottom of the puck.  Often I heard reports of “not slick” and can only guess that’s due to not enough loading time because this one is plenty slick with a proper load.  If I ever get to the end of this one it will be replaced.  I understand it’s  been rebranded as Bergamot and Thyme.  Can any of you confirm that B&T is the same scent?

Garibaldi (Abbate y La Mantia) tame tobacco
Shave 5 ・ 93% left

What a splendid shave! I’m truly digging these Abbate y La Mantia soaps. Each has a slightly different formula, so each makes a slightly different lather. But they are uniformly wonderful, providing great slickness and just the right amount of cushion for the Vector to get close and shave comfortably. And as far as the scents go, I haven’t found a stinker yet. Today’s Garibaldi is a sweet tobacco that floats somewhere between the musty vanilla aroma of old books and slightly synthetic smell of new shoe leather. At first it was almost too mild to notice, but as I delve deeper into the puck it grows richer and more intriguing.
