Weinstrasse (Declaration Grooming) white grape fougère
Shave 1 ・ 97% left

I’m a few months early with this soap. Weinstrasse (German for 'wine street') is just a bit too rich for the first half of spring, but with it’s generous offering of a delightful cornucopia of summer aromas, it will be the ideal scent for the middle of July. Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux call Weinstrasse a fougère, even though it departs from the typical fougère profile by replacing the traditional lavender and citrus and herbal notes with fruits and flowers. This bold move pays off, as the use of honeysuckle, iris, blackcurrant bud, helichrysum, and sandalwood – along with the expected coumarin and oakmoss – creates a rich and complex fragrance that smells like fresh white must, seeds and all.

Crabtree and Evelyn - Sweet Almond Oil soap

I am enjoying this, but there's no way I'll be killing it off. There's a lot more left than I originally thought.
Variety is the spice of life... and glad this is part of it.
Nostalgia for me. This soap and it's eponymous cream were in my dad's den when I was young. I remember going to the C&E shop at the shopping mall and being enthralled with all the different scents, particularly Sienna.

Today my wife popped her head into the office and said “do you want to go to Yellowstone?  We could stay the night at the lodge and come home by noon Saturday.”  Well now, I love the park after first opening before the tourists get here and I was feeling pretty good about my efforts of the week, and I really do love a ride with my bride so I closed the laptop, grabbed some binoculars, and headed to the truck. On the road by noon.  Not too shabby.  Well, it’s still winter in the high country.  The camera still shows about two and a half feet of snow on the dock and the lake is still capped but we drove right past the lodge and into the park.  My bride loves Bison, especially the calves so about the third  arch od bison offered a good vantage point and we stopped.  No calves with this group.  At least not that we could see.  Calves drop from late April through May so I’m sure there are a few on the turf but we couldn’t see any.  As I watched the cows I saw a lot of hard tails in the air indicating birth was near so we waited and watched and as we watched I spied a coyote working the meadow behind them for voles. Suddenly her ears went forward and her pace slowed until she was on point like a good setter.  Head cocked side to side, and then The leap and dive into the snow.  Yep! Score.  My bride was enthralled and I felt lucky to be here.  There were a couple of other rigs watching the bison but we were on the yote!  Sure enough, a stalk ensued and another dive paid with another vole.  Good job girl! After that we went to a geyser basin that is normally too crowded but was barren and man that sulfur!  Yes sir, I’d chose right this morning with a redo of Saturnia but today, no aftershave.  I wanted that funk,

Fourth day in a row and I've become accustomed to the scent.  I'd rate it now at 6/10 in strength, down from an 8/10, and I don't even notice it while lathering.  This is my second day with soap only and I'm very satisfied with its post shave properties.  This kind of makes me wonder why if a soap like this can leave my skin feeling smooth and supple well into the evening using minimal ingredients, do we really need soaps that include a long list of other skin beneficial ingredients?

So right up front, I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian.  I'm a certified, life long carnivore, but I like variety.  This soap is organic and vegan, so if you're a practicing vegan this is a soap you should at least look into.  I don't really have any skin issues that can benefit from pine tar.  I do have an itchy ear problem and washing my ears with the lather seems to relieve the itchiness somewhat.  Pine tar was recommended for my condition which is why I took the plunge to try this soap.  Overall I think this is a fine soap with easy lathering qualities and the lather is slick enough so I get very comfortable, three pass shaves.
