Tried a 50/50 mix hoping to create a tobacco scent with a bit of citrus added to the mix.  Failed ...  Mandarino Fumo is so fragrant it pretty much dominates anything else so if I do this again it will be more Blood Orange and less Mandarino Fumo.

Smoking Bishop huh?  Interesting and appealing name. Zero understanding of why it’s a “seasonal” but as Will had it on a deeply discounted sale, and being the name intrigued me, and given the omnibus base works well for me, and including he also had Vespers on sale, I blind bought a tub.  Then I did some research.  Turns out, like all you smarties already knew, a Smoking Bishop is a mulled wine drink infused with citrus and spice, one of which is cinnamon!  Ah, cinnamon, you evil biddy!  I love you but you turn my cheeks the color of a Cajun crawfish boil.  B&M website state wine, orange, grapefruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pipe smoke.  Love the scent and of course the lather was cinchy but that cinnamon worry was upon me.  Hmmm, first pass went uneventful.  Not feeling it like I do with Pimente de la Vie or Stirlings Pumpkin Spice, but on the second pass I started to feel the tingle.  Shave finished and my skin feels ok with just a hint of rose.  Will I keep it or roll it along?  I’ll give her one more go to see what I think but I love the performance and the sweet scent but it’s an uphill climb for this one as there are so many soaps that don’t utilize that tempting cinnamon.

Trumpers Eucris (enhanced to lather).  Love the scent. Cream performs well. Soap puck is slick but not latherable without assistance.  It always amazes me how companies often forget what won success and fall in love with thier processes instead of thier customers.  I see it way too often.  A business starts with a great product or service and customers come. Soon the customer base has outstripped thier ability to service customers so they apply processes like new check-out software or packaging, or HR to build a team and infrastructure to take care of the customer experience and things go fine, but with time, managers start focusing on the “process” more than the customer.  More speed.  More efficiency. More margin. And fail to remember the customer  IS the source of success.  Our processes don’t spend any money with us.  At any rate soon decisions are made that change the service or product to fit the process instead of fit the customer and we end up with a very efficient shaving soap that nobody wants to buy and enough pride or investment inventory that returning to safe ground is difficult.  Trumper isn’t unaware of the issue. I’ve written them three times and I know I’m not alone but as of yet…..no revision.  So sad. So very sad.  Once you were the king but the king committed suicide.[Image: Wej8mCd.jpg]

Shave 1 ・ 100% left

As I unwrapped a new brain bowl of Martin de Candre Fougère, I was stunned by its odd appearance. Instead of a pristine, alabaster heap of soap, I found a rather unappealing mound that resembled a head of decaying cauliflower. Splotches of tangerine tainted the surface, which I can only assume is the unfortunate consequence of prolonged storage in its wax paper wrapping. Off putting? A bit. Nevertheless, I remain optimistic and look forward to putting it to the test. Perhaps with a few shaves, the soap will turn snowy white.

Still losing the battle of the soap pile I see!  Atta boy! Brain bowls intrigue me.
