This is my first go with a Noble Otter soap and splash and I found the performance very good.  Not my favorite but very good.  With a name like Batters Up, and my love of baseball it was certain to hit the cart. Here is what Noble Otter says about it.

Attention all baseball fans! Gather around and get ready to hear the tale of "Batters Up". This fragrance will take you on a journey through the sights and smells of the baseball diamond.

As the game begins, the scent of fresh green pepper and crisp aldehydes fills the air, creating a sense of excitement and anticipation. The crack of the bat can be heard in the distance, as the tarred maple bat hits the ball with a satisfying thwack.

As the game progresses, the scent of violet leaf and musk mingles with the aroma of the baseball glove, evoking memories of those long summer afternoons spent playing catch in the backyard. The fragrance is rounded out with a hint of patchouli, giving it a subtle, earthy undertone.

But what really sets "Batters Up" apart is its strong used leather scent. As you lather up with this shave soap, you'll feel as though you're holding a well-worn baseball glove in your hand.

So, whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or just looking to switch up your shaving routine, "Batters Up" is the fragrance for you. Experience the thrill of the game every time you lather up.

Well folks, it’s pretty obvious that this soaper isn’t a ball player because I’d have no idea what Violet leaf , musk, green pepper, or aldehyde has to do with baseball, and although pine tar and leather are part of the game they are a long way from the dominant scents of the Diamond.  Mown grass?  Yep. Moist clay?  You bet.  But those scents aren’t present and This one is heavy on leather but not leather like any ball glove I’ve ever used, new or old, and the pine tar (oh I love pine tar) is as hidden as is the green pepper.  Baseball?  Nope.  Not even close.  This one is a big swing and a miss on that front but MAN I DIG THIS SCENT.
you all know I like the odd and bizarre and this one falls right in there with the best of the reekers.  Heavy smoky leather sits on top, in the middle and plays base too.  Patchouli adds some depth.  Pine tar must bring the smoke.  Violet leaf?  Shoot, that scent didn’t stand a chance and plays the role of the uncoordinated kid who never got picked for a team.  My wife smelled the bathroom this morning and said “did you put that on yourself?” this fits like a gang member with Midnight Stag or French Vetiver and the dry down is so good!
So if you don’t like a fist fight first thing in the morning you may wish to pass.  If you like stinkers this one is right up your alley. (The art is awesome though).
