Razorock might not fall into the “elite” soap category but it shaves ok for sure.  Easy to load. I wish it were slicker.  So why keep this around when I have premium choices by the score?  The scent brother!  This herbaceous, sulphur laden soap is simply awesome.  About 15 minutes up the road from me is my wife’s families old homestead.  On the banks of the Snake River is a monument to Matthew Holt who owned and operated a very important ferry at the location.  If you wanted to get on the north side of the mighty Snake River you had Dad Holt do it.  Matthew and Sophy had a home up the hill a ways and on a hot springs that they used to heat the house.  Most people do t know the springs are there because they are driving up the road a half mile to Heise Hot Springs which is a much bigger, and commercially developed spa.  The waters are rich in minerals and carry a heavier-than-usual sulphur smell that will persist in your swimming trunks like a skunk sprayed dog only the dog smells bad and my trunks don’t.  I adore that sulphur smell and am glad Idaho has so much of it.  (Idaho Stinks).  The soap smells so marvelous off the puck, like fine cologne, but the best part is when those refined bits dry off I’m left with the sulphur that I catch fleeting bits of all day long.

Matt Jr. can make you one. I have one that he made nearly identical with a boar knot that I requested.

This was a perfect shave with this incredible gear. Wolfman makes an incredible razor. Milton at Turn-N-Shave makes some of the best hand-tied brushes on the market.

The stars aligned; this was a big shave. Blackland Era on the 5 plate. Simpsons (new?) Chubby 3 Sovereign Fiber (delivered today). Mike's filled to the brim. Lots of growth.

Yesterday afternoon my cell phone exploded like it was an Amber Alert... rather, it was a snow squall alert. Someone didn't get the message.
