Kind of a freshy spa scent. Not bad, but feel like I am perusing the pages of a Cosmopilitan magazine .

Great lather though, and the glass jars rock.

Thank goodness for decanting supplies.  Added 8ml of backup Tonka Bean SFS plus 3ml of witch hazel to this original bottle of Tonka Bean SFS.  And the alcohol burn is less intense, but still just as long lasting.  Good thing I'm into S&M so a bit of pain is fine with me. Big Grin

I have wondered how Proraso stacks up to others I like but to be Frank, with reports of lack of slickness and protection, and a general vibe of “not elite” I just never got around to it.  Until Today.  Oh brother!  I was messing around with it last evening and determined I liked the spa-vibes scent but that an almond sized dollop would not be sufficient in my hard water at all.  So, this morning I added an almond sized squeeze into a bowl, then another almond, then a peanut and two sunflower seeds.  I didn’t make the lather in the bowl, just used it to get all the “nuts” aboard the bristles and took it to my wet face.  Well sir, it made a great lather that was super slick and protective.  Sensitive?  Well, I sure don’t need that category but it was the one that was available at the barber so I grabbed it.  I understand the original green is eucalyptus. This sensitive touted scents of line and apple.  Well either I can’t read or someone is asleep at the wheel at the Proraso factory because I get ….eucalyptus, and not lime or apple.  It’s actually very nice.  Great shave.  Very acceptable post.  It was dry but not like my experience with zingari and a small dab of Shea had me right as rain.  I am surprisingly satisfied with this cream and seem to need to try the tub now.  I went in expecting to be giggling about its performance failure but instead I’m smiling.  Old dogs……new tricks.

I have not used but a little surprising.  I was under the impression the newest base was pretty good.  Any chance that is a old formula as the labels are different and I don't see that scent currently available.  I was kind of interested in trying as she/he appears to be having someone else do the scents now.  If I'm not mistaken the guy thar did the Spearhead soaps and one from Rogue a perfumer that looks quite bold.  Unfortunate but a gift so no loss I suppose.

I’ve no doubt others find it more than acceptable.  I’m guessing it’s an oldish base as this scent was made for a social media shaving group.  I’m positive folks who like it are not mislead, it’s just not for me.

Nothing wrong with Proraso creams. The soaps aren't as good, in the opinion of most (I agree).
