Bergamotto di Calabria (Abbate y La Mantia) soapy lemon-orange
Shave 4 ・ 75 g left
I’d be lying if I said this soap smells like bergamot. Truth is, it smells like soap. Along with some citrus, there’s a drop of vanilla and maybe some musk, but the general impression I get is a slight soapy bitterness. At first I was disappointed with this arrangement since I was hoping for a tart, bright blast of bergamot from Calabria, the region of Italy where the world’s finest bergamot is grown. And all of Abbate y La Mantia’s other scents have been remarkably bold and evocative. So this scent was a bit of a let down. But I’m coming to terms with the situation. My attention has been turned to my lather making and technique, and that’s led to some truly satisfying shaves. And when I really need a bergamot fix, there’s always Ethos to fall back on.

Don't get me wrong, this soap can be used like that but when you're in a hurry, it also whips up quickly and provides great cushion/slicknessPurposely designed for no muss. No fuss.

Question for the folks out there who have used these Tobacco soaps... How would you compare PAA Cavendish to Mystic Waters Sweet Briar?
Anyone use these two who may be able to give me a scent comparison? I already know both bases well, so I'm just curious about the scent differences.
Thanks!
