What soap/cream did you use today?

Palmolive Men's Classic.
First use.  I don't have a proper mug yet so I face lathered and it worked fine. But I'm not totally sold on the scent or the slickness.  The first is, of course, subjective. The second isn't.  Maybe more water would help?  Not sure.  I liked it but didn't fall in undying love yet.

Decent triple-milled puck. Foamy but easy to build. Not much residual slickness. However, for me this is a special scent. I save it for sunny crisp cool days! The balm is better than the soap. No AFS, but a beard oil is available.

Hmmm. Maybe I was wrong about this soap. Yesterday I came down pretty hard on the performance saying it was thin, filmy, and wimpish. That’s all true. But the shave overall was actually very good. Close and not a speck of irritation, it lasted a good eighteen hours before I had even a hint of a barb. And my skin loves the heavy dose of  glycerine in these Trumper soaps. As the hours pass it grows plumper and plumper until it eventually becomes as smooth as my earlobe. So, while this lather will never earn any beauty contest, it can give you a decent shave. And that smell of moss, currants, and spices just may make all the fuss worthwhile.
