Thanks to the weakened condition of the pound, I'm building a ziggurat of British soaps. Recently the British economy has taken an unsettling turn which has caused the value of their currency to plummet. As a result, soaps available from English vendors have become more affordable than they have been in ages. I’ve indulged. So far, two hard soaps have suited me perfectly: Floris and D.R. Harris. Each makes a grand lather, especially when I choose a spineless floppy brush. And in a fit of reckless optimism based on current successes, I’ve even ordered a few tubs of Trumper, ToBS, and Truefitt & Hill, despite their miserable reputation for unlatherability. I have my fingers crossed, though I'm keeping my expectations suitably low.
