Well you know me, it’s all about Vetiver so when Shannon’s Haymarket Vetiver appeared on the scene I had to try it and……it is a Vetiver of the peanut scent variety. Enjoyable? You bet. Is it dirty like advertised? Well that depends on your definition of dirty. If you are looking to avoid “perfume” then yes it is. I get vetiver, but not really dirty. I get lemon but not to over power the root. I get oakmoss but not that nose-tingling oakmoss can bring. All in all a very fine Vetiver that is done up in essential oils only. Dirty and gritty? No, not really but it certainly is not polished and refined either. I sure do like Shannon’s lather though.

I'm not sure what the format should be top 5 or 10 scent or base or maybe freestyle and post what you want. I'm sure there is a few some may not have never heard about along with maybe some old guard from years past.
Great idea! I’ll be looking for you to crank one up!

Arlington (D.R. Harris) citrus fougère
Shave 2 ・ 112 g left
There is something about lathering oneself over a porcelain basin that brings out the otherworldly in a fellow. He does not seem to be attached to the planet Earth at all, but to be revolving softly above himself in some far off zone in the ether. The steady hum of the streaming water is soothing, not like waves crashing onto the beach or the rush of a river, but more like the gentle humming music of the spheres. Steam rises from the sink, its flavors a combination of citrus and wildflowers. For a few moments all is right with the world, and he finds himself saying his prayers. In this way the pleasures of the shave seem to be more real than any others. He discovers such a pure joy in this humble act. And after toweling himself dry, he feels as if he might carry the medicine of a morning shave with him all day.
