Santa Maria Novella Tobacco Tuscano cream
Sa°Tabac °urday

I purchased this cream 10 years ago. Pretty big eucalyptus/menthol accord. I was in Florence last October and visited the SMN pharmacy, went nuts, and bought 2 more tubs

I do like it, but I am only half way through my jar from 10 years back. The cream is still soft and fragrant. Like Danny boy stated: it is very slick. I could barely maintain a grip on my razor. And, as duly noted by Bouki-master and Neroli, ain't much cushion. I am one of those guys though- gushing matters not a bit to me. Residual slickness is important to my face and style of shaving. And this produces that attribute in loads. I have 20 MLS of the SMN cologne left, but bolster it with the RR AFS which is really nice. I bought a life time supply 2 years back. A grand Sa°Tabac °urday it is.

Mind showing a shot of the blade (not the box/package, bc that's not definitive enough, unfortunately, as there are two different versions in the same packaging... and others yet in different packaging... so, at least 3 versions of Gillette Platinum going around right now).

Btw x2, I kinda like the different takes on Sun Up (B&M, PAA, maybe others I can't remember at the moment).
...BUT I think it's in the "too much and too strong" category, for me, at least. Very nice to go sniff in the jar, but not something I want hanging around my face for very long. JUST me. How do you feel on the scent?

Morning, Nero! Here's a shot of the Gillette Platinum blades I've been using lately. I got them from Amazon. Who knows where they got them. There's a code etched on one of the tabs, 1092RB. I don't have any idea what that means.

As for the scent of Barrister & Mann's Reserve Classic, I agree with you. It was too strong at first. I took a sniff and immediately stowed the puck away. But now that it's had about a year to calm down, I'm liking it. I don't think I'd ever want a bottle of aftershave that smells like this, but for a soap, it's fine for occasional use. After the last rinse, the fragrance lasts about twenty minutes before fading away. Good for a fougère Friday or whenever I want to smell like a hip dandy from the Sixties.

Crema da Barba (Santa Maria Novella) cool tobacco
Shave 10 ・ 208 g left

Years ago I walked past the Santa Maria Novella pharmacy in Florence dozens of times, but never thought to go in. Those were the days before I knew about luxury shaving goods. It’s just as well as I was dirt broke then. But now I’ve got a fat tub of Crema da Barba, and I’m finding it hard to put down. It has just enough menthol and eucalyptus to provide relief on a sweltering September afternoon and just enough tobacco and vanilla to remind me that cool days are ahead, even if we have to wait a few more months for them to arrive down here.

La Toja Cream

I always enjoy La Toja.  It does what a shave cream needs to do; it's incredibly easy to load; and it has a clean, refreshing scent which I don't think is easily mistaken for much else.

Nice one Dave!

Hey did you have the knot changed in your brush? I couldn’t tell from the video. I put a badger in mine and I thought you may have to. So just curious my friend.

Enjoy your Sunday

I hope Frank makes the Tonka Bean SFS a permanent offering as it's become my most versatile post shave product.  Plus I like to use it late in the evening following the application of the Reméde Revitalizing Serum.
