It’s been six years since I started using this, so you’d think some of the sent would have faded. But Stella Alpina is still the strongest smelling soap in all my Saponificio Varesino herd. Like most of their fragrances, this is a take on cologne: bright citrus up top, herbs and flowery bits in the middle, woods in the basement. What makes Stella Alpina unique is its hefty dose of eucalyptus and the use of cypress instead of sandalwood. There’s not much floral here either, even though the soap is named after an alpine flower, the edelweiss.
