I decided, for a change of pace, I'd use it as a makeshift shave stick to revisit the "delivery method". The chunk of soap is a bit small, but I managed to get a good grip on it. To my surprise, it worked quite well! I got more than three passes worth from a fairly quick application.

Regarding the scent, I had never even considered this one. I had no clue what cardamon and teakwood smelled like. To my nose I get a light wood with spices and a bit of a cologne vibe. It seems to run the middle of the three and is mild enough to not be offensive. I could see myself using this again. Definitely a nice change of pace from my other soaps and a good discovery that shave sticks might actually be ok for me... Maybe. Lol.

Have a good evening DFS![Image: 72a2e49fa87b5f4fa8a01ad2415e8713.jpg]
Zach - Passion is quite nice. And Fortitude is a homage to Serge Lutens Chergui. Another soap commander worth a look of you like Passion. I actually bought Passion as a bath soap. Very nice during the holidays.

I get on with this maker quite well. Love 4 of their flavors :

Spice, Passion, Love, and Fortitude.

Art of Shaving - Ocean Kelp cream

Too bad they discontinued it. But good thing I have backups! Loved this scent since I laid a sniff on it. Citruses, sea kelp, a touch of ginger. Invigorating and spa-like. Very dried out, so I've loaded this like a soap from the tub for years. Always impressive results.

Nice day. Comfortable temperature, light breeze, perfectly crispy and juicy chicken thighs, a mist/sprinkle leading to a double rainbow.

Brings to mind the bulging bags of peaches my aunt brought home every Saturday morning late in August. The scent is strong and authentic. There’s also a slight hint of greenness, but mostly it’s just pure peach. If you fondly remember the fruit-flavored shampoos of the Seventies, you’ll love this.

What about the performance? The puck is about as hard and as dense as a puck of Saponificio Varesino’s triple-milled soaps, but the lather is far thinner. Even after loading my brush with two-hundred swirls, I had trouble making a rich emulsion. This is clearly a vegetal soap, and that means a lighter lather, plenty of slickness, and a close shave. It finishes nice and clean. My only question is Could I really use this body shaving soap day after day on my face? After only one shave, I’m feeling like it may be too light for that.

I hear you, Bouki. However if you use it like a stick and rub the puck on the face, it helps the loading a lot! In fact, it's wider than a stick, so very quick and easy to get the beard loaded.
Great advice, Nero! Next time I'll mash the puck around my face a little while. That should help me get more soap into the lather.

I'm really curious to see what Frank will do with these body soaps. Seems like I read he might offer them as shave sticks at some point. I could see how that may improve the performance.

Postscript: It's now six hours since I shaved, and the finish just gets better and better. Though today's lather was light, it was full of Shea butter and a bunch of other emollients and hydrofactants. (I'm making up words since I obviously don't know what I'm talking about most of the time.) But I am certain that my skin feels good right now. No burns, blisters, or abrasions. Just a pleasant plumpness. This is going to be a fun soap to keep tinkering with.

They don't dare come between me and my chicken thighs!

Exactly Matt!

Bouki  if you rub the puck on your water soften face and neck just a couple of times and then take your damp shave brush ( I prefer synthetic knot for these ) and just clean off the extra lather that’s on the puck and then lather up I think you’ll see it will explode with lather and then swirl and paint and it will get more dense.

You guys are also correct. I’m either using this base or what I call a hybrid base I just made to test in a Roll up and the pucks in a box will be discontinued. It will be easier to use for both face, head and body shaving.

BTW next time I make the Peche de Vigne I’m loading in more scent.. I’ve become a little obsessed with that scent and I want more of it and it needs a matching Skin Food Splash.
