Yesterday was a no-shave day and I decided to take Bouki's advice and open a new tub this morning. Since today is likely to be the last decent day before temps reach back into the 90's, I went with Ethos Mandarino Fumo...wow, the base and scent are simply outstanding! As others have noted though, this will be a great scent come fall. But i'm sure it will be used again before then
Well, with the MdC Fougere journey coming to an end, I dug around in the basement and found my scales . Over 100 shaves, I ended up using 66.49 grams of soap. Over the life of the soap, that should yield approximately 300 shaves. I'm certain one could get quite a bit more usage from a jar though. Over the past three months, I tried several different ways to load including blooming the soap. Several of the methods included significant overloading of the soap. But, if 300 shave is the number, that would be $0.18/shave (watch for sales and you can easily find a jar for $55).

Peche de Vigne (Ethos) pure peach
Shave 1 ・ 100 g left
Brings to mind the bulging bags of peaches my aunt brought home every Saturday morning late in August. They filled the whole house with peachy goodness, just like this soap. There’s a slight hint of greenness, but mostly it’s just pure peach. If you fondly remember the fruit-flavored shampoos of the Seventies, you’ll love this.
What about the performance? The puck is about as hard and as dense as a puck of Saponificio Varesino’s triple-milled soaps, but the lather is far thinner. Even after loading my brush with two-hundred swirls, I had trouble making a rich emulsion. This is clearly a vegetal soap, and that means a lighter lather, plenty of slickness, and a close shave. It finishes nice and clean. My only question is Could I really use this body shaving soap day after day on my face? After only one shave, I’m feeling like it may be too light for that.

On my last order from Soap Commander I got this sample of their Passion shave soap. I decided, for a change of pace, I'd use it as a makeshift shave stick to revisit the "delivery method". The chunk of soap is a bit small, but I managed to get a good grip on it. To my surprise, it worked quite well! I got more than three passes worth from a fairly quick application.
Regarding the scent, I had never even considered this one. I had no clue what cardamon and teakwood smelled like. To my nose I get a light wood with spices and a bit of a cologne vibe. It seems to run the middle of the three and is mild enough to not be offensive. I could see myself using this again. Definitely a nice change of pace from my other soaps and a good discovery that shave sticks might actually be ok for me... Maybe. Lol.
Have a good evening DFS!

I hear you, Bouki. However if you use it like a stick and rub the puck on the face, it helps the loading a lot! In fact, it's wider than a stick, so very quick and easy to get the beard loaded.
