Blue Tobacco (Abbate y La Mantia) cool fruity tobacco
Shave 5 ・ 80 g left
Prescript ☞ A few days back AlanH81 posted a note about Blue Tobacco, and he had good things to say about it. In fact, what he wrote encouraged me to try it again. Truth is, I pitched my tin of Blue Tobacco not once, but twice. There is nothing wrong with the scent. It’s cool, fresh, and blue with a soft whiff of tobacco. I really enjoy it. So what went wrong? The lathers I made came out way too thin, and I ended up with some irritation. But I’m willing to pull it off the trash heap once more and give it another whirl. This time I’ll do my best to address the thin lather, and I'll limit myself to one pass.
Five shaves into this soap and I still haven’t managed to wear away a single gram. The label should have warned me. It says clearly that Blue Tobacco is a hard soap, as in rock hard. Apparently it was inspired by the soaps made by the wives of sailors who needed a solid puck to last them for an entire voyage. I’m no mariner, but at the rate we’re going, this tin could keep me in lather even if I decided to float all the way around the world in an oil drum. And I’m not normally a bloomer, but this brick called for a few drops to soften it up. After that, it took only 300 swirls to fill my brush.
Epsilon Blue Mediterranean is an aquatic aftershave modeled on the legendary Floïd Blue. Along with a hint of cedar & spice, you’ll pick up lemon, lavender, and a cheering splash of menthol. It reminds me of my dad, who would have turned 95 tomorrow.

K2 Base
Notes: Tobacco leaf, honey, iris, sandalwood, amber, musk, frankincense, myrrh, smoke, rose, patchouli, Himalayan cedar and hay.
Charkalis hit it out of the park with this soap. This is a luscious soap scent and the Kaizen2 base produces wonderful lather. Charkalis comments: "Beautiful wood notes, florals, ceremonial incense and tobacco leaf with a beautiful honey note..."
