A Friend of mine turned me on to this Soap. He said “It’s the best Fougere I’ve ever smelled”. I love Fougere scents, and after he said he considered the Base to be Top Tier it was a done deal. Today was my first use of Joserra ‘Spanish Fern’, and off the puck it smelled like a very Green, spicy Fougere. While lathering the Scent became much stronger, very intoxicating. I have to agree with my Friend, this is the best Fougere I’ve ever smelled in a Soap. While lathering the base reminded me of Elmer’s glue. I continued to add water little by little and the lather just exploded. The finished product was very thick and slick, with lots of cushion. I had an excellent three pass shave, and my skin still feels great. I’m looking forward to trying other Scents from this Artisan, as well as trying the matching Splashes. Very pleasantly surprised with this one!
Ears up eyes on it. Good find. Bouki & Nero - a Fougere to add to the inventories?

Lovely would be an understatement for this one… WE must influence Pasteur for the splash, it’s a must acquisition for a proper pairing

Glenn, I've had a reaction with every GD soap I've tried (@6) and so avoid them but this one had me curious. How's the scent ?
INTOXICATING would be an understatement. My skin was DRUNK, I mean truly “Pissed to the Gills!”  Mo was absolutely having cocktails putting this recipe together.  Impeccable GD moisturising/hydrating slickness RUM inspired with a splash of coconut.  I think he waved the coconut over this one as opposed to adding it IN!

If you like RUM, you’ll love this one! I paired it with Hamilton Overproof 151 Rum, lol, just splash the Rum on yourself because the entire bathroom smelled like I tossing a few back!

Hamilton Overproof 151? Glad you asked…. Spicy, vanilla, caramel, and rotten banana!

Every good man deserves to discover himself, find the love of his life, make good friends, have great life experiences and at least a shave like the one I had today.

This non-tallow soap from Belarus gave me a splendid shave this morning. I didn't get much volume, residual glide was rather poor and the emulsion started to get dry just a bit too quickly. However, the soap delivered absolutely fine in terms of cushion and post-shave feel. Scent wise, beautiful... just beautiful. I discovered I thoroughly enjoy anise. Overall, a great shave.
Mmmmmmmm,, I would really enjoy this one as I like ANYTHING Anise flavoured or scented! Thanks for this one, on the hunt!

Blue Tobacco (Abbate y La Mantia) aqua-bacco
Shave 4 ・ 81 g left

I’ve had mixed results so far with Blue Tobacco. Though I like the aquatic fragrance and the mentholated chill, the lather hasn’t been all that protective. I blame my ultrasoft water. The celestial elixir that comes gushing from of my pipes makes it so easy to work up a seemingly smooth emulsion. Problem is, only a few hours later I discover that the lather was in fact too thin and sudsy and it didn’t do its primary job: protect my hide from the sharp edge of the blade. The remedy? Well, if there’s one panacea in the world of shaving, it’s simply to load more soap. Works every time. Today 250 swirls finally coaxed this rock-hard puck to give up enough soap to make a protective lather. ‘Plus Saponem!’ (more soap) is now the motto on Bouki’s coat of arms.

Postscript: It's now twelve hours since I shaved, and I'm noticing razor welts. This is what happened each time I've used this soap. Something about it obviously doesn't agree with my increasingly tender skin. Looks like I've got a new – rather expensive – tin of hand soap.

Art of Shaving - Rose Absolute cream

Stupid good. Hard as a milled soap, so a little difficult to load from the tub, but worth every swirl. Called on the SS Blackbird and I'm smooth and silky.
