Driven by enthusiastic online reviews and a strong appetite for lemon scents, I ended up purchasing a tub of Esjberg Verbena. I learned that I tend to enjoy more the straight-forward crisp freshly cut side of the lemon scent spectrum, as compared to other variations that tame the lemon down to more subtle non-invasive pale versions. I like my lemon to slap me good. Verbena treats me too nice, reminding me of Alexander Simpson Lime. No scent chemistry. All that aside, good cream.
Adrian. I love this one. Some musky accord in the drydown. Decent lather too!

A Friend of mine turned me on to this Soap. He said “It’s the best Fougere I’ve ever smelled”. I love Fougere scents, and after he said he considered the Base to be Top Tier it was a done deal. Today was my first use of Joserra ‘Spanish Fern’, and off the puck it smelled like a very Green, spicy Fougere. While lathering the Scent became much stronger, very intoxicating. I have to agree with my Friend, this is the best Fougere I’ve ever smelled in a Soap. While lathering the base reminded me of Elmer’s glue. I continued to add water little by little and the lather just exploded. The finished product was very thick and slick, with lots of cushion. I had an excellent three pass shave, and my skin still feels great. I’m looking forward to trying other Scents from this Artisan, as well as trying the matching Splashes. Very pleasantly surprised with this one!

Ears up eyes on it. Good find. Bouki & Nero - a Fougere to add to the inventories?

Honestly Hunter, I love a complex FOUGÈRE and this one is right there with Beaudelaire. Beaudelaire is a MASTERPIECE, the Mousse de Saxe sets this one apart “from all the rest.”  HOWEVER, Joserra Spanish Fern is SENSATIONAL! A different FOUGÈRE than B&M, this one is in its own scent league much like Beaudelaire.  There are many FOUGÈRE scented soaps to choose from, these two will be the two I alternate between.

I couldn’t figure out where the slight spice came from; he splashed in a little clove, just enough tho! The green earthy-ness of this one combines all the fir’s I like with a hint of patchouli, spice and herbs.

This one is as thirsty as a Friday Night Dancer in an Orlando Gentleman’s Club.  I kept adding water, eye dropper by eye dropper and the result was an intoxicating yoghurt lather. Absolutely one of the most sexy scents in the FOUGÈRE category!

Pasteur received a phone call from me on 2.8.2022, I requested 8 Splash for this one as I can only find it in Berlin and Milan….

If you like FOUGÈRE, this is a must.  I’ve paired it with Penhaligon’s EF Tonic borrowed from my Grandfather’s 2 litre!

CHEERS to jshaves2554 for turning me on to this Artisan!
