Nero. I was fighting it man. But the omnibus posts got me off kilter. . Want to make sure i am not nutty on my love for this base. For me, it is reedonkulusly goot.

Palmolive Shaving Cream

Imperial Rum (Phoenix & Beau) resin & rum

Perplexed by what I found distasteful in this bay rum, I visited Phoenix & Beau’s site for the low-down on this scent. Here’s what they say: there’s lime and orange on top and West Indies bay, vanilla, and spice in the middle. So far, no surprises. But what’s this? Ylang-ylang and benzoin in the cellar? Huh! Not many bay rums take this direction. It must be the benzoin that’s making my nose wrinkle. To me, this resin has a rubbery or plastic-like facet. Some shavers say it’s also in Martin de Candre soaps, and that’s what makes them smell like neoprene left in the sun.

Another odd and slightly frustrating thing about this soap is the way it grows heavier with each shave. I might have to abandon my brush in favor of the scrape-’n-smear technique if I ever hope to see the bottom of this jar.
