What soap/cream did you use today?

I’ve started another book. This time it's Captain Blood by Rafael Sabatini. It’s a hundred-year-old swashbuckling tale of enslavement, escape, piracy, and romance set under a blazing Caribbean sun. This sort of dashing adventure demands a swaggering scent. Bay rum is the obvious answer. So this morning I scoured the shelves for a bay rum that would go well with the book. In the end I chose a surprisingly mild interpretation of that piratical concoction. Phoenix & Beau’s Imperial Rum got the nod. It's really more spiced rum than bay. In fact, when I look at the list of ingredients, I don’t see any pimenta racemosa at all. Still, the soap smells sort of like West Indies bay in a down-wind kind of way. Lime keeps things light, and there’s a semi-sweet nutty note that reminds me of a chunk of Cella that’s been left out on the counter for months. So it’s not your typical approach to bay rum, which is often quite bold. In fact, it might be just a little too mild for my taste. But I like the lather a lot. It reminds me of Barrister & Mann's white lable recipe. As for the scent, I’m hoping I learn to love it before I finish the book.

This was my Fuzzy/Fluffy shave...........Fuzzy supplied the E Injector razor and Fluffy the Custom Brush handle. I'm enjoying this Gin and Tonic sample and thinking I need to get a full tub. Debating if I want it "On the Rocks" with menthol or plain and add cooling agents when I want the coolness stepped up..........decisions, decisions. Hope all enjoy their weekend !!
