Macduff's, Icefields Parkway
I am a big fan of menthol. Or is it mint I'm really enjoying? Anyway, to me mint and menthol are an indestructible team, they complement each other so well. The combination works great for me as long as menthol is not pushed to the point where my face gets paralysed. On its own, menthol does a very good job when added to various different splashes. I added menthol crystals probably to 30% of my splash collection (some already had some menthol) with a very high success rate (I enjoy the result in 90% of cases). What I recently started to wonder is if I would also find value in mint alone without its usual companion menthol. First I eyed Peppermint by TOBS but then I spotted Icefield Parkway by Macduff's (Notes: Eucalyptus Dives, Spearmint, Cornmint, Peppermint, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus Globulus) and instantly purchased a tub of the latter as I find the base to be far superior to TOBS. Apparently there is no menthol to Icefields Parkway. However there is some sort of cooling agent embedded into the soap that provides a light menthol-like coolness. The scent is a combination of mint (in fact multiple different variations according to the note list, variations which I am not able to tell apart) and a bit of spice but I'm no scent decoding expert so I might be wrong about the spice. Overall, a very nice clean crisp aroma and solid base performance.
