Lothur Juice

I can hardly pick up the scent. When I saw "juice" written on the label I expected the scent to be pungent and fruity, zestish. Instead I got a very light clean type of scent. Despite not being what I expected, I really enjoy the scent. Performance is excellent.

Floris No. 89 shaving cream. I'm really glad that Floris apparently has not reformulated this cream, despite renaming it for marketing.

It’s dumbfounding the difference time has made in wet shaving.  Can’t imagine there are many gains to be had in the soap game and I can’t imagine I could tell if there were.  So many great possibilities but……some of the older stuff still tickles my fancy too.  It wasn’t that long ago that Williams Mug Soap was OFTEN a topic on the forums and the thread wasn’t derision.  It seemed we would lose our minds when the annual “discontinued Williams” rumor made the rounds.  They still make and sell Williams, and Van der Hagen, and Palmolive although we seldom see any press about any of them like we once did.   Back then, L’Occitane made a huge splash offering a Plisson synthetic brush and a shaving soap that was easy to lather and smelled great.  I loved Cade then and still do now.  It had a rep of dryness a d not enough slickness but I never found that to be particularly true.  Hydration and heavy loading worked a charm for me and still does.  This soap will alway smell like hot sun on cedar to me and I love it.  Yep, Cade made quite a splash but I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen it mentioned.  Scent strength is lower medium but the darn stuff lingers for hours.  That is a very good thing.  L’Occitane Cade will always be a favorite.

New to the Damn Fine Shave.  I was referred by Dragonsbeard as I ordered some ethos grooming products from him.  This is my first post.  Today I used Executive shaving company’s bay rum shave cream, one of my absolute favorites.

Glad to have you!

Hey, Mookieb1! Welcome to DFS, and welcome to the soap of the day thread. Glad to see you starting your posts with a nice bay rum!
