Several years ago I was working in Virginia and on a country lane in the western part of the state I ran into a small stand selling soaps and lotions and such.  I bought several items, one being a bar of soap with sandalwood scent.  They soap really wasn’t that great but the sandalwood scent was awesome!  I really like sandalwood and it’s always amazes me the plethora of takes on sandalwood.  I understand better now why after visiting with Dom at Sir Henrys but I’ve been on the lookout for THAT sandalwood scent for years now.  Well, I found one that’s close in PAAs Sandalwood Supreme Science.  There it is!  It’s creamy and dry.  It conjures images of desert heat not humid jungle.  The dry puck is not even close to what the lathered soap smells like thank goodness.  There is a sweet, jammy scent to the soap that gives way to a wet brush and the woody sandalwood comes rushing to the front.  The wood is dry like cedar but without the sharpness that cedar gives.  Instead it is a creaminess that although not exactly like that Virginia bar soap, it’s close enough to get my brain wiggling.  And the CK6 base is one of the best in the biz.

Ethos Grooming Lavender Supreme shaving soap, really a soft soap. It has a dark muddy scent similar to that of Martin de Candre but warmer and richer, and it makes great lather.
