Vétivert (Ethos) vetiver cologne
Shave 1 ・ 100% left

Well, this really is a handsome jar. Clear, clean, and hefty, it’s everything a shaver could want. But the stuff inside is even more impressive. I’m a sucker for vetiver in all its many manifestations. I like them downright dirty, and I like them prim and proper. This tub of Vétivert runs with the second crew. In other words, this is a vetiver your wife could love.

Frank calls Vétivert a ‘green cologne’. I can see that. There’s a lot of violet leaf here. In fact, my first sniff reminded me of Green Irish Tweed. There’s also a generous dose of two or three types of vetiver, a big squeeze of citrus, a dusting of sandalwood, and even a drop of ginger. So there’s a lot going on, but it’s not overpowering in the least. This is a soft and easy fragrance that you could easily wear to the office without fear of stink eye.

The other day I was wondering what might compete with Nuávia Blu for my favorite scent in shavedom... Thanks for reminding me.

I bought the Bartigan & Stark Timberyard sometime in August or early September.  I used it once and, even though it was a good lather/soap base, I never reached for it again.  But I've spent the past week out of town for business and decided since it was a smaller tin, it would be a good choice for the toiletry bag.  It turned out to be a really great choice for the week.  The soap and 28mm Synbad synthetic knot got along splendidly all week.  A very easy soap to lather with a primarily lemongrass-forward scent

I generally do not comment on a soap or cream that I use that day.  However, I must on this soap.  I only use 2 band badger fan shape brushes and always face lather.  I soak my brush in distilled water. I have been cooking for years, don’t smoke and my taste and smell are perfect.  Most soaps and some creams smell good when the top is off of the tub but seem to loose the fragrance when the lather is made.

Corretto kept its wonderful fragrance when I lathered it and stayed that way during and after my three passes.  The lather, was not foamy but more like a cold cream which I like.  It did not dry out and I had a smooth shave.  And completely covered may face without much effort.  The combination of fragrances Mohammad combined really worked well.  This is one hell of a soap.  I think I used it about 2 days ago.
