Lavender de Luxe (Meißner Tremonia) rich lavender and geranium
Shave 1 ・ 97% left

At the end of the second pass, I glanced at the lather bowl and realized I still had enough there to shave seven men, three passes each. As HoosierShave can attest, it doesn't take much of Meißner Tremonia's dense soap to make a mountain of lather. My great glistening heap was the result of one solitary gram of Lavender de Luxe. Earlier this month I tried loading these Meißner Tremonia soaps with a brush. I got great lathers, but I was disappointed that the pucks weren't getting noticeably smaller. So today I took a spatula to this jar and commenced to do some excavating. I dug and scraped until I had a nice pill. I spread that out even in my lathering bowl and started in with a damp brush. The results were terrifying. Suds flying everywhere. Enough lather to shave an orangutan. Nearly had to reach for the garden hose to wash it all down the drain. Guess I learned my lesson. Leave the spatula in the kitchen. A thin smear of soap in the bottom of the lather bowl is all that's needed when it comes to shaving with Meißner Tremonia.

Really hate keeping animals on leash but our local laws require it for good reason - lots of aggressive dogs with irresponsible petkeepers. It strikes my heart as a remnant of slavery to treat any living creature thus and gutting to see them so humiliated.

Saturnia is one of the best smelling soaps I own and it comes in the cheap plastic Razorock tub.  Nothing about this soaps packaging would indicate the wonder that lies within.  Easy to load. Slicker than most. It acts a whole lot like what it is, an Italian soft soap, and it is glorious.  It has a very present note of sulphur which at first glance would seem nasty but in conjunction with other notes it not only works but sets itself apart as next-level creative in the scent department.  I have other soaps that may perform better in some categories but none of them exceed it in its glorious scent.

Squeezed and shook out most of the water from the knot and then loaded for about 30 sec

Face-lathered and, just to see what would happen, I never wet the knot during the face-lather

Guess the badger knot retained more than enough moisture to get the job done...

That looks like some true recycling with those layers of labels on that jar!

Most definitely!  The Castle Forbes tub was actually bought from Maggard Razors (empty tub for about $1).  I've always liked the fact they sell them rather than toss 'em

It doesn't take much at all!  I do wish more US vendors would carry MT soaps, the scents and packaging are top-notch.  The lather is on the "light" side but provides more than sufficient cushion and slickness.

BTW, how storng does the Rose Geranium come through on the scent?

First go with Waves of Grain.  A truly wonderful floral scent with enough hay to make it the perfect fall season soap (assuming you like florals Smile )
