I record my kit down at the bottom my soap note each day. You may have noticed that I’ve been using the same brush for quite a while. The Phoenix Shaving Peregrino is everything I want in a lather maker. I really don’t have any intention of changing. Same with the razor and blade. The Feather’s mild precision suits me perfectly. So it’s taken nearly eight years, but I’ve finally found an arrangement that works very well for me. And I’m starting to feel the same about my soap. These Spearhead pucks make a great tallowy lather, they smell terrific, and their retro labeling is very satisfying. When it comes to choosing a soap each day, my hand keeps gravitating to the Seaforth! stack. In fact, I’m finding it hard to break out of their orbit. Every time I use one, I think this is what wet shaving was meant to be.

I'm the same way. Variety is great until it isn't.
I use Gillette Platinum blades and Razorock Lupo (aluminum) for EVERY shave.
I also use a synthetic brush for EVERY shave... but I do switch them based on soap/loading/container characteristics. However, at this point, I still enjoy/require a change in soap for almost every shave... I don't recall using a soap 3 times in a row unless I was traveling, but even then I usually have 2 or 3 in the bag.

Seaforth! Sea Spice Lime t. (Spearhead) aquatic mossy citrus
Shave 1 ・ 103% left

There’s a lesson here for all lime lovers. On its own, citrus notes strike me as shrill. They’re clean but whiney. Without a bit of ballast, they’re sort of like shoving a dental drill up your nose. How to fix that? Well, curiously, one of the best scents to pair with citrus is coriander. That spice has a dusty base with lemony side notes. It’s a mild, broad scent that pairs well with all sorts of other scents. Think of coriander as a universal adapter. On the one side you have prissy bergamot and finicky lime. On the other you’ve got rumbling oak moss and dirty pepper. How do you hook them up? Dump in a pinch of coriander. It’s a good mixer and it makes everybody happy they came to the party.

Love the performance, don’t mind the scent thus in this Covid-nose era I’ll be swirling a brush over this puck more often than previously done.  As stated the performance is so nice!  The scent is just weird enough that I can pick up a note or two and because of that I’m digging it even if those notes aren’t awesome.  That blackbird razor though!  Digging it as it’s a true 2-pass beard killer.
