First go with it this morning and I can see why many enjoy it so much. Next time I use it, I'm going to try Bouki's method and do at least 200 swirls.Grind some black pepper on top and really indulge yourself! I do like this Vetiver/rubber compound

Soft Heart Base
The scent is very inviting. I have no idea what the scent notes actually are but, to me, this soap is a warm, spicy, oriental. I purchased this limited edition set (soap and balm) as an afterthought to my purchase of a Full Measure of Man set. FMoM turned out to be a flop but this one I very much enjoy. The soft heart base is easy to create a nice shiny lather with and the result is a slick and smooth shave.
Your experience mirrors mine. I picked up the same two sets, fully expecting to love FMoM. The soap I can tolerate using sometimes. The balm ramps up the stench entirely too much. Rhapsody, on the other hand, is stellar in all regards.

'Manly' Rose - grandma nowhere near this puck.
Pairs well with the masterpiece:

Their scents are extremely diverse. 3 of them I hate, and wouldn't even shower with : spice vitae, Denarius, leather. I do get the base poking thru in Eufros and Mike's. Love WK. Their fougeres are wonderful(09-23-2021, 03:22 PM)Lipripper660 Wrote: This is the only Wholly Kaw soap I own. Love the performance but I just don’t get on with their scents. Spice Vitae is a case in point. When I could smell, I’d get a pretty strong coffee note which I very much like but that is sitting under a pretty strong disinfectant scent that is not so wonderful. Reading the scent list I would expect to really like the scent but how I pick up industrial cleaner from benzoin, vanilla, pink pepper, cardamom, honey, sandalwood, patchouli, oud, (and coffee), is way above my pay grade. At any rate I’ll use this puck up because as stated before, coffee, and the “cleaner” reminds me of flushing the dairy barn out as a kid. Sadly, I’ll not likely have another Wholly Kaw ever. Sure is a great soap though.Recently I’ve heard a couple people say they can always smell the base in wholly KAW soaps. I’m not sure what I’m looking for as I have 4 and they all smell very different and unique. Has anyone else heard this? The performance makes them one of my favs. King of Bourbon and Chypre Rose are just wow

Wood accord... supported by moss and lavender/floral. Simple. Clean. Classic. Soapy (but not green, IMO).

I had tried to order directly from the Van Der Lovett website but they don't ship to the US.

Fresco t. (Ethos) minty lime basil
Shave 1 ・ 100% left
Ethos’ F Base lather gives you a rich, comfortable cushion without obliterating the feel of the blade. Even my ultra-mild Feather razor still let me know it was loaded with a sharp edge. But the lather was so rich and slick, I didn’t fret about any irritation. As Ethos recommends, I didn’t rinse my face squeaky clean between passes. I just added more lather and went to town. When the blade work was done and all the lather had been washed down the drain, my skin felt remarkably clean. No greasy residue at all. How about the smell? Lime. Lots of lime. But there’s a hint of basil and a nice pinch of mint around the edges. The finish of course is awesome. Soft, smooth, and wholesome. So what's that "F" in F Base all about? It doesn't have anything to do with Fresco. It stands for Firm. This soap's no triple-milled puck, but it is about as solid as a Spearhead, a Barrister & Mann, or a Sir Henry's style soap. Loads quick and easy and yields its lather without any special tricks. Top notch.
