I’ll need 2 testers that are very familiar with the scent so I can send samples to as we progress. Not that I don’t trust my nose it’s just better to have a couple more on the scent.

I’m actually very excited about this project.
There are several of us who are very familiar with the AOS scent.  Finding a couple will be easy.

I find a difference between the AOS and the Fine. Though similar I find the AOS a little richer and more creamy. The Fine is a little more Linear in my opinion but still very close.

Which one do most of you like best?
The AOS sandalwood is my favorite.  The newer AOS and the Fine seem to me to have a bigger anise note that although very nice and very similar don’t have the same creaminess.

Clay Face
Honolulu, Hawaii
Peppermint & Rosemary t. (Mike’s Natural Soaps) cool rosemary
Shave 1 ・100% left

Most of Mike’s soaps have a distinct clay note. I like it. When the lather gets all wet and juicy and I’m well coated from ear to ear, I sort of feel like I’m in one of those mud spas slathered with rich earth. The silty lather coaxes the tension out of my jaw, my blade slips harmlessly over the skin, and the world becomes a really nice place.

BTW, here's hoping Dragonsbeard is able to replicate (or come very close to) the Santal Abosolut scent...would hate to see one of the best sandalwood scents disappear!

Got you covered guys. My ingredients just got delivered to my house so they will be waiting for me when I get home and I’ll go into the labs this weekend and see how we do on the first go round.

The AoS cream and current soap is better than Fine scent, IMO... But pretty close.
But the Fine is better than the old AoS soap (Valobra) scent.
That's my ranking and I am sticking to it Smile

This week's shaves included some of the "standard theme" soaps that some folks do with a weekly rotation. Monday was a half-baked "menthol Monday", using just a mentholated splash. Tabac Tuesday and Williams Wednesday happened. Why not cap it off with a "Fat Friday"?
