I’m always reminded how similar your soap and tabac are.  So easy to use.  So comfortable.  And although I like tabac, your scents win too

Thanks for the compliments.

I liked XPEC's scent

LOVED iColonialli scent; fruity Woodsy sweetly smoky; had ZERO Mango scent.  It does (did) or done did have Mango Oil in it. The refill is the one you want.  The one in the Terra Cotta vessel, meh, take that hard puck to a cheese grater and you got yourself a real nice shaving cheese. Worked best bowl lathered.  Performance....nice, but there’s better.  Rest In Peace iColoniali

I LOVED the scent of XPEC: Woodsy, musky, grassy lemon with a splash of pepper, but I liked its performance better. Was nice, there’s better. Had high street real estate in my cabinet too, now occupied by MdC

ESBJERG (Amber Kardamom and Orange Vetiver) blows both the above out of the water; scent and performance!  Blows many many croaps out of the water

AoS Coriander & Cardamom.....one of the most elegant and exotic scents I’ve ever schmelt

Sometimes one must allow products from the past (and present) to Rest In Peace....

I shouldn’t smell pucks. They’re never a good indication of what’s to come. The best way to get an inkling for what the lather will smell like is to leave the soap uncovered in a small room. Then walk away for a few hours. The next time you come into the room, take a deep breath of that perfumed air. You’ll know right away if that scent's going to work for you. So how does Chypre Rose Concerto smell? Fantastic. This soap’s fragrance is every bit as rich as the legendary lather it makes. It’s loaded with centifolia rose and resins and herbs and who knows what else. And there’s a bitter, mossy edge to it that I really like. If you’re looking for a masculine rose, you may have found it.

Uhhhh, I was anxious and nervous reading your post as fast as I could and re-reading it slower like a normal person.  I’m SO relieved you like this one. Rose is NOT a scent for me, yet this is in my top 10 of all time.......for every reason you stated.

What Voodoo Black Magic is he (Sri) doing over there at WK?  The bittery dried dead rose herbal scent of this one with its “legendary lather” is a masterpiece. It comes up for me this Sunday!

Eton College Cream v. (Taylor of Old Bond Street) floral cologne

Orange, lemon, and neroli open the door to this scent, and they're soon joined by jasmine and rose. A careful nose may pick up a sliver of wood. To keep it all from floating away, there’s a speck of patchouli in the basement. All in all, Eton College is a nice floral eau de cologne. If you like 4711, chances are you’ll like Eton College cream too. What’s more, this cream lathers like a champ. Any brush will do a good job. And few creams can match it for a close shave. Those are the good parts, but there are one or two things I wish this cream did differently. First, the base smells a little strong. Straight from the pot, it burns my nose. It calms once I get down to serious brush work, but I wish it started out as mild as the fragrance. Next, the lather doesn’t have the deepest cushion. I call it a day after two light passes. And finally, like many creams, it leaves me tight and dry. But in spite of these quibbles, I really like Eton College. In fact, this is my second tub. Its bright, cheerful fragrance makes up for any shortcoming.

I love these kind of rambles! Keep on posting, ExtraProtein. There are some real gems to be found in random thoughts. (And now I will go shop for Esbjerg.)
