Howdy weirdos!  And I say that in a most inclusive and loving way.  Is it strange I find myself checking the site to see who shaved with what?  Yes, I suppose it is.  But there are a lot of destructive thinks that might otherwise occupy my time than hanging out with other gents who have chosen to not look like Hobos.  Is there a problem.  Nope, don’t think so, but I have been tempted to binge-read Bouki’s posts.  Today is a little-known soap that used to get forum time years ago but suddenly became unavailable, thus it has fallen into obscurity.  That is too bad because this very green colored soap in its distinctive plastic bowl is a winner.  Lavender is the scent but this is a “whole bush” rather than just the flower and it has that medicinal camphor scent I find attractive.  Such a great shave and scent.

Really wish this scent was available.
It's an old WCS soap, any chance it was made by Phoenix? It's my understanding they did the original Gatsby soap. Perhaps this one too? If so, perhaps they have similar under their name? Just a thought.

We have Doug, I believe, around here a lot. He's very approachable, if you want to inquire.

I received the soap for free about 4 or more years ago.  So I do not believe it is still available.

Lipripper660, I hear what you're saying. Is it a bit strange that I read the Soap of the Day thread first thing in the morning? My wife used to think so, but she's OK with it now. She knows not to pour the milk on the Corn Flakes before I've had my soap fix.

And it looks like we've both fallen down the same rabbit hole. A few days ago I ordered a Gem Micromatic Flying Wing, just like the one you shaved with today. I hear it can be fairly aggressive. What's your take? Should I be reaching for my bulletproof soaps when I pull this one out of the hangar?

I find this one more on the side of medium.  Keep the blade flat and she shaves great.  The Micromatic I have on the other hand is a lovely relative of a chainsaw.  This flying wing and a g-bar I own mind their manners.  I can imagine losing blood to this razor.

We had rain this morning so this is better in my opinion scent wise when it's cold. Post shave is really nice for my dry skin. Almost finished with this puck

Laureato v. (Abbate y La Mantia) lemon bay

No, this isn’t a bay rummy thing. The bay in Laureato is laurus nobilis, noble bay, the leaf you cook with. It gets popped into soups and stews and sauces to give them a lemon-eucalyptus-evergreen aroma. It has other uses, too. The ancient Roman emperor Tiberius wore a crown of laurel whenever the weather turned stormy as he believed it would protect him from lightning. Victorious generals, such as Napoleon, wore a laurel crown during their triumph. And in Italy, college graduates to this day wear beautiful crowns of fresh laurel leaves.
