Here’s another soap that marches in my “bay rum and bay rum allies” cohort. There’s actually no bay in this fragrance, but there’s plenty of eugenol, that chemical compound found in cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and West Indies bay that makes things smell like a dentist's office. Copaiba oil adds to Moroccan Rhassoul's spiciness, and there's a petal or two from some fragrant flower and a tablespoon of brown sugar thrown in. I slap on some bay rum aftershave and everything just settles in nice together.

Bouki, it is really nice to see and read about your return to the MT soaps.  They have such great blends.  Black Beer No 1 is en route to the den and your posts have created more anticipation for its arrival!

Thanks my friend, I wish I did have some vanilla cake! Instead, I had a Butterfinger bar, haha. I swear they don't even make those the way they used to be.

The Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster is a beautiful touch though.

I hope this returns in the Soft Heart base soon. Perfect for Spring.

Turned right back around and used the Esbjerg Orange Vetiver again to great effect. I don’t know how many shaves are left in the tub but even with others In the rotation, this cream won’t last out the month.  A quick cruise around the web and if/when I replace it I won’t be able to do it through a USA vendor.  Ahh, we are a fickle bride pledging our affection to a product only to spurn them for another lover.  For several years now I have not chased new soap bases because bases are so very good now.  Where my interests lay is in the scent of the soap.

Fully appreciated how much soaps have improved BUT for those of us blessed with extremely damaged and sensative skin, the improvements to the bases yet underway are critical. For example, it is only the past year that I have been able to shave with any soap without having both face (and especially neck) left beet red and swollen. Our reality is quite the opposite regarding scent, where we could give a damn.  Interestingly, thanks to new approaches to ingredients, for the first time finding that properly formulated scented soaps can actually out perform their unscented stable mates.
