I have not tried splashing it. And now the soap has come out in version 4. So I ordered a little (having over 250 soaps). The soap works great, the smells are complex and interesting.

They have such great blends. Black Beer No 1 is en route to the den and your posts have created more anticipation for its arrival!HoosierShave, I've really enjoyed Meißner Tremonia's soaps. I admit it took a little practice to get them to work how I like them. It's easy to over water them at first, and that results in light, fluffy lather. So my mantra is 'load heavy, load dry.' Then when all is good and pasty, I start adding water slowly. I usually end up with a thick & slick lather. But that's not the best part. I really like their finish. They contain talc, and that agrees well with my skin. It doesn't kick in for a few hours, but by late afternoon when some soaps leave me feeling prickly, Meißner Tremonia soaps keep me feeling dry and smooth.
Black Beer 1 is one of the few Meißner Tremonia soaps I've never tried. I can't wait to hear what you'll say about it.
I'm picking up a strong citrus-vibe but it's a very "dark" citrus. I'm not sure what it is but it doesn't seem to be a smoke or patchouli-esque scent turning it dark. Perhaps it's the German Schwarzbier added to the base. Looking forward to lathering this one up and seeing how the scent evolves. And thank you Bouki for the loading/lathering advice. The light/fluffy lather has appeared with my MT pastes in the past so I will use your method when I use BBN1. BTW, did you grate the soap into the container or do you typically hold the soap while loading?
I grated my Meißner Tremonia soaps into Colt Ainer jars, but you could hold the soap in your hand or even rub it into your beard like a shave stick (without the stick). Tell me what works best for you, and happy shaves!
Bay Rum t. (Barrister & Mann) spicy bay rum
My neighbors keep two parrots. They chirped all the way through my shave today confirming I had made a good choice when I picked up this Bay Rum. They must have seen the label.
I loaded light. Only a gram or so. And I watered the lather until it was as glossy and dense as house paint. The result was a thin slippery layer that left me wondering if I put a blade in the razor. I got unsurpassing comfort and an unusual degree of closeness from my mild Feather razor. I’ll have to remember to give this soap lots to drink.
